This session presents the winning proposals of The Field Station, an international design competition co-developed by Irem Sezer during her AIA Virginia & Virginia Sea Grant Fellowship in collaboration with TerraViva Competitions. Centered on envisioning a multidisciplinary research hub within Virginia’s Shenk Property, the competition invited teams worldwide to propose bold, site-responsive interventions that reframe architecture as a tool for resilience and adaptation.

Sezer will be joined by jury members Robert V. Reis and Daniel Perez, offering a dynamic reflection and overview of the competition. The session will feature presentations of the design challenge and winning entries, an open Q&A, and discussion points drawn from public feedback gathered at the exhibition.
