At the crossroads of legacy and innovation, William & Mary—America's second-oldest higher ed institution—has partnered with renowned design firm Sasaki to develop a new Comprehensive Plan: a framework for the next 100 years of campus development. After 2 years of strategic engagement, this plan will honor centuries of campus planning while embracing the demands for a resilient future and the evolving needs of the university. This presentation explores how the historic fabric of W&M provides both context and contrast to modern strategies, focused on adaptive reuse, preservation, and sustainable design. Attendees will understand how Sasaki's inclusive and data-informed planning process reflects the institution's values while offering a replicable model for historic campuses navigating change
