Shawn Mulligan, AIA is a consultant, facilitator, and licensed architect who helps leaders and teams find clarity, build stronger organizations, and plan for a sustainable future. As Founding Principal of Design Clarity, he draws on 25 years of practice - spanning furniture design, high-end residential, educational, and international work at firms like OMA - to help teams move from confusion to clarity, and intention to action.

A longtime community builder, Shawn has developed 10 networking and professional development programs for six nonprofits, including AIA Virginia's Leaders in Architecture & Business (LAB). Through the AIA Strategic Council's Practice Study Group, he researches how architectural firms can build more resilient, future-ready businesses. He believes the future of architecture belongs to firms that design their businesses as intentionally as their buildings.
