Steve Blye, an award-winning senior design architect for several decades, now serves as Design and Technical Architect at the Masonry Advisory Council in the Chicago area, promoting masonry through education and research. He has led design teams on over $2 billion projects in healthcare, education, civic, commercial, hospitality, multi-family and more. Skilled in master planning, design, and interiors, he emphasizes aesthetics, durability, and building performance. His roles span design, project management, and construction administration, with success in proposals, interviews, and awards, including the 2018 National Individual Award of Healthcare Design Excellence and numerous other design and masonry awards. Known for his hand-sketched presentations and client-focused design, he also mentors students and supports business growth. Steve holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois and remains active in AIA, The Masonry Society, and other professional groups. Steve loves travel, cycling, watercolor painting, and dining with family and friends.
