Geoffrey Sparks is an Associate Principal in Arup’s Washington, DC office and leads Arup’s Acoustics, Audiovisual, Theatre, and Experience Design team in the East. He has worked on projects dealing with all aspects of sound the built environment from broadcast facilities, to commercial, educational, civic, and cultural projects. Geoffrey’s technical expertise and breadth of project experience allow him to bring innovative ideas and past experiences to address unique challenges within a project. Geoffrey received his BA in Physics from Grinnell College and MA in Audio and Acoustics from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. His interest in acoustics stems from working at a recording studio, Electrical Audio, in Chicago and constructing recording spaces while combining his academic interests in physics, audio, and architecture.
