Rebecca leads the Sustainability Department at Mead & Hunt, a national E/A firm, where her group supports internal planning, design and construction projects focused on Aviation and National Guard work, while also consulting to external architecture firms on civic, higher education, hospitality, K-12 and multi-family projects. She has over 25 years of experience integrating sustainable design concepts into design and construction projects. She excels at guiding design teams on green building metrics, specifications, and materials. With her sustainability team, she performs resilience assessments on all projects. These have sparked vital conversations leading to increased owner engagement and integration of design strategies and operational procedures to minimize risk and downtime due to climate-related hazards. She was a Founding Board Member of the James River Green Building Council, now USGBC-Virginia, and is currently on AIA Virginia COTE and Joint Legislative Committee. She has delivered numerous trainings and presentations on LEED, specifications and materials, including at Arch EX.
