Rebecca has over 25 years of experience integrating sustainable design concepts into building design and construction projects. She worked in architecture for before transitioning to green building consulting, and during that time, instituted the first sustainability initiatives at her firm, including the first LEED project in 2002. She excels at guiding design teams on green building metrics, specifications, and materials topics. With her sustainability group, she performs resiliency assessments on all projects. These have sparked vital conversations leading to increased owner engagement and integration of design strategies and operational procedures to minimize risk and downtime due to climate-related hazards. She was a Founding Board Member of the James River Green Building Council, now USGBC-Virginia, and is currently on AIA Virginia COTE and Joint Legislative Committee. She has delivered numerous trainings and presentations on LEED, specifications and materials, including at Arch EX. While primarily focusing on civic and higher education projects, Rebecca also works on hospitality, defense, aviation, and museum projects.
