Michael is a Senior Associate in VMDO’s DC office with experience on public and private projects totaling over $400 million across Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. He recently supported the DC Department of General Services and Department of Parks and Recreation on the Stead Park Recreation Center, an adaptive reuse and addition to a historic carriage house that will become the District’s first net-zero energy community center. He also led the design-build of the new Marlow Heights Community Center in Maryland, shaped by an extensive community engagement process. Michael served as Associate Director on the AIA Virginia Board of Directors from 2020-2022, and is a past chair and current member of the AIA Virginia Design Forum planning committee. He is also a 2017 graduate of AIA Virginia’s Emerging Leaders in Architecture program, which focuses on professional growth through leadership, collaboration, and community-focused design.
