Shawn’s superpower is connecting people and purpose to find solutions. For over 15 years he’s created and improved nonprofit programs that build stronger communities, promote professional development, and connect people with opportunities to do good. As a volunteer leader in the AIA, Shawn started local and state-wide programs to support Emerging Professionals and Mid-Career Professionals, and he currently serves on the board of AIA Virginia and AIA Central Virginia, and Chairs the statewide Mid-Career Roundtable and Mid-Career Taskforce.

With over two decades of architectural expertise, Shawn has led diverse projects of all sizes and types, from custom furniture to campus master plans, spanning residential, hospitality, commercial, and education markets. Before founding the consulting firm DESIGN CLARITY, Shawn designed Net Zero Energy K12 schools at VMDO with a focus on sustainability, wellness, workforce training, and community engagement.
