Paul R. Battaglia, AIA is Executive Vice President of AIA Virginia - the voice of the architecture profession in Virginia - dedicated to serving its members, advancing their value, and improving the quality of the built environment. Paul arrived at that position with more than 25 years of experience as both a practicing architect and an educator. He held positions in several architectural practices as well as academic appointments at Hampton University, NC State University, Virginia Tech, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Battaglia has served in a leadership role for community-centered foundations and not-for-profit boards including the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Sandler Center Foundation, the Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation Board, the Greater Norfolk Corporation, RISE Resilience Innovations, and the Virginia Sea Grant External Advisory Board.
