Dr. Paula Loomis has 40 years of master planning, architectural design, construction management, and facility operations experience with the largest federal facility agencies including the Department of Defense (U.S. Air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, and Navy), Department of Homeland Security (Coast Guard and U.S. Secret Service), General Services Administration, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Her designs have won over 35 design and planning awards. Colonel Loomis spent 30 years (six active/24 reserves) in the U.S. Air Force as a Civil Engineer officer. As a civil servant she oversaw the clean-up, planning and rebuilding of Homestead AFB following hurricane Andrews. Dr Loomis was the Executive Director for the CG’s Shore Infrastructure Logistic Center and the CG Deputy Civil Engineer where she was responsible for the planning, programming, design, construction, and operation of 28,000 structures at 2,000 sites and oversaw hurricane response and rebuilding following hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Marie, and Sandy. Dr. Loomis is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and the Society of American Military Engineers. She is a certified Safety Assessor and Safety Assessment Program Instructor through the California Office of Emergency Services. She has trained over 300 assessors.
