Robert Jonah Margarella, Director of Architecture at Mason and Hanger, has been deeply involved in code advocacy and education while working in Virginia over the last 6 years. Prior to working in Virginia, he was an architect for over 21 years in New York City with firms such as HOK, Pei Architects, Rafael Vinoly and Ewing Cole. He is currently a member of AIA Richmond Board of Directors, Virginia State Building Code Technical Review Board and the AIA National Committee for Codes and Standards. He is also a certified commercial plan reviewer in Virginia.
