Melissa is an award-winning interior designer with extensive experience in commercial design with an emphasis on healthcare. A strong believer in the impact of design, Melissa advocates for a holistic design process including architects, planners, and interior designers working together leading to an optimal project outcome. As a healthcare designer, she feels it is her utmost duty to protect patients, support caregivers and comfort loved ones through thoughtful, nurturing environments. Melissa actively supports design education programs across the country, volunteers for Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), is an NCIDQ Ambassador, serves on the Virginia Commonwealth University IDES Professional Advisory Council, and is a past adjunct professor. As a member of ASID’s Advocate by Design Council, she is the first to represent interior designers on the International Energy Code Council. In 2019, Melissa received the ASID National Honors Chapter Medalist Award and in 2023 she was inducted into the ASID College of Fellows, the organization's highest honor.
