Nigel F. Maynard is a freelance journalist who covers architecture, design, and construction industry. He spent 14 years at Hanley Wood’s Builder Magazine and Residential Architect and was the founding editor of the now-defunct digital magazine, Residential Building Products + Technology. Most recently, he was editor in chief of Custom Builder and PRODUCTS magazines.
His freelance work has appeared in countless publications, including The Washington Post, Metropolis, Architectural Record, Architect’s Newspaper, This Old House, Modern in Denver, Arlington Magazine, Bethesda Magazine, Ocean Home Magazine, Northshore Magazine, USA Today Magazines and others.
Maynard is also an amateur woodworker and cabinetmaker and has bought and remodeled five homes. His current home was featured in The Washington Post and his previous home was covered in Home Magazine, The Washington Post, and HGTV.
