Shannon, a Principal and Interior Designer at Quinn Evans, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has devoted her 25-year career to the design of learning environments.
For the past 17 years, Shannon has exclusively focused on the design of public and academic libraries and has contributed to the design of 30 projects. Her notable award-winning libraries include the Varina Area Library, recipient of the 2017 AIA/ALA Library Building Award and the 2019 Library Journal New Landmark Library Award, and the Fairfield Area Library, recipient of the 2022 ALA/IIDA Library Interior Design Award. Shannon has served as a guest lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s course on the Future of Library Design for four years.
Shannon believes that the library is one of the most impactful building types in a community. As an interior designer she is committed to making these vital places of social infrastructure inspiring and transformative, and uniquely tailored to the communities they serve.
