Speaker Bio
An advocate for value-inclusive design practices, Mr. Harris is an Adjunct Professor at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) in the Department of Architecture and Urban Sustainability (DAUS) and a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate in Urban Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ULAE) at UDC in CAUSES (College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences). He is the CAUSES Aspiration Award recipient for Architecture and Urban Sustainability, Clarence Pearson Award recipient in Recognition of Overall Leadership and academic performance, Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholar, and 2024 recipient of the OTJ Licensure Scholarship for Black Architects & Designers. Eric teaches History and Theory of Architecture I & II (Undergraduate) as well as Urban and Community Design (Graduate). He integrates Professional Practices into his students’ learning experience. Eric earned his Master of Architecture from UDC and a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from George Washington University. In addition, he is an active member of the AIA, NOMA, and SSAC and advocates for social equity and inclusion in academia and professional practice.
