When and where is AIA Virginia’s 37th Architecture Exchange East?
This event, including the hotel room block is being held in Richmond, VA on November 6-8, 2024 at the Richmond Marriott. 

Do I need to be a member of AIA or AIA Virginia to attend?
No, you do not need to be a member of AIA or AIA Virginia to attend the conference. If you are not, we do hope you decide that an AIA membership is valuable to you. Members receive a wide range of benefits at the national, state, and local level, including considerable discounts on conference registration. Architecture students are also invited to attend the conference at a significantly reduced rate. 
 
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, guests are allowed and must be registered to attend. A guest is considered a non-professional attendee and will not collect continuing education credits. You may register any non-professional guest(s) when you complete your registration.  For a guest to attend tours and other paid events, tickets must be purchased through the registration system. Attendees are prohibited from using Guest Registration to register professional associates or colleagues. No continuing education credit will be recorded for a guest registrant.
 
What is the recommended attire for the conference?
The recommended attire for conference events is business casual. For the Visions for Architecture Gala on Thursday evening, we’d like everyone to dress in cocktail style!

Are there any virtual options for this year’s conference? 
We will not be offering a virtual component to this year’s conference. 

Is there an event app? 
No, there is not an event app.
We will be offering a printed program that will provide the full schedule, location of sessions, activities, and events. 
 

How is continuing education recorded on-site?
For each educational session, there will be a QR code to scan and complete the form to collect your CE credits and record your attendance. There will be a sign-in sheet to record LUs for all tours. 
 
How many continuing education learning unit hours are available?
We are offering more than 40 total hours of continuing education this year!

How will I receive my credits? 
AIA Virginia will transmit all AIA member CE data to AIA, where member transcripts will be updated immediately. All licensed professionals are responsible for reporting their own credits to the appropriate agencies.
 

How do I register?

What is the cancellation/refund policy?
All refunds must be processed by contacting AIA Virginia at info@aiava.org. Conference registrants who cancel their registration on or before October 9, 2024, will receive a refund of any fees paid, minus a 20% administrative fee. Registration, CE session, and tour fees, as well as event tickets, will become non-refundable after October 9, 2024.

I am an AIA member, but not in Virginia. Can I attend?
Yes, all AIA members can attend our conference at the AIA Member rate. If you have any issues, please contact us.

Is transportation provided for tours?
Yes! Transportation will be provided for most tours. All attendees are required to ride the transportation provided by AIA Virginia and prohibited from finding their own transportation to any tour site. Attendees must arrive at the Tour Desk area to line up with their tour group.

I’ve already registered. How can I make changes or see my schedule?

How can I print a copy of my schedule?
Please refer to your schedule in your confirmation email, or go to the "Register" page, and click the "Already Registered?" under the correct registration category. 

Can I cancel a tour and get a refund?
Yes, email us, and we will provide you a refund minus a 20% administration fee through October 9. After this date, registration, CE sessions, event tickets, and tour fees become non-refundable.

Where is my confirmation email?
Check your spam/junk folder. If you still cannot find it or think you may have deleted it, you can contact JEMS Hospitality by email to request it be resent.

When is the Design Expo?
We will have a two-day showcase at the Richmond Marriott. The expo will be open from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, November 6 in the Exhibit Hall and then an opportunity to have lunch with the Exhibitors from 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Exhibit Hall.

I received an email about purchasing the conference attendee list. What is this?
We never sell our attendee list. Please beware of scams.
